If you are looking to join other cyclists for a gentle Sunday ride, you should give Chorlton Wanderers a try. We are an informal group rather than an organised club. We meet once a month for a ride around the lanes of Manchester/North Cheshire of up to 50 miles, taking in a pub lunch, enjoying the scenery and general chat. If you’ve not ridden for a while or are looking for a relaxed way to find new routes and friends, then the Wanderers are for you. We meet on the second Sunday of the month in Chorlton Water Park car park, off Maitland Road, off Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton-cum-Hardy at 10am, returning at around 4pm.
You don’t need any paperwork or formality. You just need to turn up with a road worthy bike, a pump, a puncture repair kit, a helmet, and (given the Manchester weather), water proofs. Children over 15 are welcome, if accompanied by an adult. Chorlton Wanderers is a social group and riders cycle at their own risk.
So if you are looking for an enjoyable day out, check out a local cycle routes here. When we are out of lockdown, come and join us on our Wanderings (and other rides in and around Greater Manchester). Links to Coronavirus cycling advice can be found here.
The Chorlton Wanderers has replaced the Dawdling Doctors – rides that were run by the Bicycle Doctor shop in Rusholme, Manchester.
